Dr Fadi BarrakĀ is a specialist in Oral Surgery with dual qualifications in Dentistry and Medicine. He graduated in Dentistry from the University of Bristol and subsequently completed his medical degree at Imperial College London. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and an Affiliate of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, having attained the Diploma in Implant Dentistry. Dr Barrak is registered as a specialist in Oral Surgery and is a Fellow of both the International Team for Implantology (ITI) and the College of General Dentistry (UK).
Since 1994, Dr Barrak has practised oral surgery across both hospital and primary care settings. He has held senior hospital appointments as Honorary Locum Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at West Middlesex University Hospital, Isleworth, and as Locum Consultant at Ealing Hospital, London, gaining extensive experience in complex surgical case management and multidisciplinary care.
Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Barrak has made a significant contribution to postgraduate dental education. He served as Senior Lecturer and Course Lead for the MSc in Clinical Implantology at the University of Central Lancashire (now the University of Lancashire), where he was responsible for curriculum development, academic quality assurance, and the supervision and mentoring of postgraduate clinicians. He has also acted as a mentor for both the Association of Dental Implantology and the International Team for Implantology.
Dr Barrak has a strong academic and research background, having completed a PhD at Imperial College London focused on the role of biomaterials in peri-implantitis. His research interests centre on implant biomaterials, peri-implant disease, and the translation of scientific evidence into safe and effective clinical practice.
He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Visiting Specialist Services Ltd (VSS) and VSSAcademy, organisations established to bridge academic excellence with high-quality clinical service delivery. Through these roles, Dr Barrak has led the provision of oral surgery services and postgraduate training programmes across the UK, including the management of multiple NHS Intermediate Minor Oral Surgery contracts. His work integrates clinical practice, education, and service development, reflecting a sustained commitment to advancing standards in oral surgery and implant dentistry.
