A dental practice is primarily a caring establishment, although to succeed in this we need to be safe and efficient. As practice manager, Marta leads our team in the provision of all round dental support.
Helping to set the practice strategy and values is a key aspect of her task, along with directing admin staff. Encouraging self reliance is part of Marta’s approach, not least by setting an example.
Marta has been with Elgin Dental Care for over 7 years, including the role of treatment coordinator and administrator. Progression to practice management coming through natural ability, experience and training.
A Level 5 ILM management course is part of this, along with a personal belief in the value of adding skills. Management in a smaller business requires diverse knowledge.
Marta conducts weekly audits of the practice, to check that internal protocols are followed, for decontamination, or health and safety. All other regulatory aspects need to be matched, or surpassed.
The practice accounts are a further responsibility, along with related IT systems. Marta’s HR role includes staff management and rotas, recruitment, inspiring a wish to continuously improve at all levels.
Her work with patients is equally valuable, from assisting with treatment, or membership plans, to helping with their treatment journey. Marta believes that dental support should fit a patient’s life, as much as ours.
Careful management of patient records and databases assists with this, as does her in depth understanding of dental roles. Marta’s ability to see the bigger picture helps colleagues to focus on treatment and our patients to benefit.
Whether mentoring new team members, or caring for patients, Marta’s commitment to striving for the best at all times adds directly to our practice ethos.
